[Hidden Korean Hotpot @Setia Alam!]
Annyeonghaseyo, Craving for Korean hotpot or also known as Budae Jjigae (Army stew or Army base stew) in Setia Alam? Recently I discover a hidden Korean restaurant located deep in the heart of Setia Alam right opposite the Saturday pasar malam serving authentic Korean cuisine infuse with Korean street food at a reasonable price. EC Ne Korean Restaurant focuses more on serving ala carte dishes rather than Korean BBQ mainly because its target audience is more towards couples and younger generations. I personally love to eat Budae Jjigae aka Korean Hotpot and EC Ne Korean Restaurant serve a pretty good and tasty one but just a little bit too salty.
What to order? I highly recommend to try out their Budae Jjigae, sizzling cheese kimchi fried rice with fried chicken, cheese dakgalbi, teok-bokki, kimchi pancake, and dak-twigim(fried chicken). But don't order their hot pot bibimbap and kimchi-jeyuk (Stir-fried pork belly with kimchi) because it tasted weird and not pleasing. Let's Meogja(eat)!

Budae-Jjigae (Korean Hotpot) RM 45(S) RM 65(B)
Budae-jjigae or spicy sausage stew is a type of jjigae, made with ham, sausage, spam, pork slices, baked beans, straw mushroom, rice cake, fish cake, ramen, kimchi and gochujang topped with cheese. The dish was created shortly after the armistice that ended the Korean War, using the scrounged or smuggled surplus foods from the U. S. army bases.
Overall tasted delicious but just a slightly salty.
Sizzling Cheese Kimchi Fried Rice with Fried Chicken RM 20
Spicy and delicious kimchi fried rice melted with cheese and sided with fried chicken and garnished with seaweed. Surprisedly their kimchi fried rice tasted good and well season plus that cheese just make perfect haha.
Teok-bokki (Rice cake) with cheese RM 16
Tteok-bokki or stir-fried rice cakes is a popular Korean food made from small-sized garae-tteok called tteokmyeon or commonly tteok-bokki-tteok. Eomuk, boiled eggs, and scallions are some of the most commonly added ingredients. I recommend ordering with cheese la because their gravy is flavourful enough and that cheese just makes too overpowering.
Cheese Dakgalbi RM 19
Spicy stir-fried pork meat melted with cheese and garnished with spring onion. Their cheese dakgalbi tasted average only. okok la
Hot Pot Bibimbap RM 15
Bibimbap, sometimes romanized as bi bim bap or bi bim bop, is a Korean rice dish. The term "bibim" means mixing various ingredients, while the "bap" noun refers to rice. Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul or kimchi and gochujang, soy sauce, or doenjang. The hot pot bibimbap here tasted really weird, it has a very acidic and strong gochujang sauce plus an unpleasant smell.
Kimchi-Jeyuk RM 15
Kimchi-jeyuk is a stir-fried pork belly with kimchi garnished with sesame seed and spring onion. The amount of pork belly is really little, to be honest, only a few tiny slices cover with mostly kimchi. Seriously not worth ordering.
Dak-Twigim (Fried Chicken) RM 15
Kimchi Jeon(Kimchi pancake) RM 15
