The Federal Hotel, an iconic building that holds its reputation for being one of the oldest hotels in the eye of Kuala Lumpur located in the central golden triangle with dazzling nightlife and right opposite Lot 10/Isetan. Kontiki Restaurant was officially opened by Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur, YBhg Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal an exquisite and luxuries 4-star dining area serving local and authenticated Malaysian fusion cuisine.
Designed base on modern contemporary with a touch of veritable with a magnificent pool view while dining at Kontiki Restaurant.
Sadly their food wasn't any close to a 4-star standard hence the variety was very limited cost RM 140 per person is definitely not worth the penny.
Overall it was pretty humid indeed and its actually not very spaces I think.

Food Review:
Let's start with my starter, I took crab, prawn, grill lamb, and chicken sausage. In-term of freshness is way off, frozen meat I believe. Overall tasted so bland and dreadful, seafood was soggy plus it has this very unpleasant taste.
The second round, I took some squid/sotong, sambal prawn, beef rendang, chicken satay, beef satay, and grill beef tenderloin. Sambal prawn was fine but the beef rendang was overcooked, very chewy. Chili squid/sotong was bland and disgusting. Something that might get me sick or worst is their grill beef tenderloin, cooked on the outside but raw in the inside. If medium rare I understand la, but if it is raw as in not cook then sorry no!! The chicken satay was undercooked as well, 80% cooked and 20% raw but surprisingly the beef satay was alright.
Next, we try their sushi bar which's located upfront of the dining space. Very limited choices thou, they only served salmon sashimi, salmon sushi, clam sushi, squid sushi, fish eggs sushi, and tofu sushi. What? Exactly, that all they have and we're paying RM140? and take a look at the salmon above, slightly grey on the side and purple-red in the middle which means? It tasted fishy and very weird.
Finally, something which's eatable!! That lamb biryani rice was pack with flavor, well season and cooked still perfection. Aromatic and meat were tender, it's looking dry but it was delicious. The Doner kebab was superb as well, juicy the wrap was fluffy plus a little sweet.
We end the night with some local desserts like kuih Melayu and ABC ice kacang. They have tons and tons of desserts, I dont even know where to start with. I pick a bread pudding, kuih seri muka , kuih bakar , kuih cara, kuih lapis, kuih kasturi, and kuih dadak. Overall tasted average only but a little dry because I think they make it in the morning and kept it for dinner use.
