Sri Kortumalai Pillayar Restaurant or also knows as Najib's Corner is a popular hot spot for indian cuisine and banana leaf which originated from India which located in Kuala Lumpur India Street. Sri Kortumalai Pillayar Restaurant gained it name  Najib's Corner after the prime minister of Malaysia Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Najib Razak visited here and oftenly had his meal here. Sri Kortumalai Pillayar Restaurant served fine and delicious indian food which is hardly found in Kuala Lumpur now days. They comes in a great range of variety of food too from meat to vegetarian to ease customers needs.

What's Banana Leaf Rice?
Banana leaf rice is a traditional method of serving rice dishes in South Indian cuisine.Due to the migration of South Indians, banana leaf rice can also be found in areas with significant ethnic South Indian diaspora such as Malaysia and Singapore.
In banana leaf meals, white rice (or parboiled rice in authentic South Indian restaurants) is served on a banana leaf with an assortment of vegetables, pickles, papadum and other regional condiments (usually sour, salty or spicy). The banana leaf acts as a disposable plate and it in itself is not consumed. The choice of banana leaves is mainly due to the broad leaves as well as to the ubiquity of the plant in South India. Typically, only vegetarian gravy will be served on the rice as it is meant to be a traditional vegetarian dish. However, sometimes boiled eggs, curried or fried meat or seafood are served as well. Traditionally, there will be two servings of rice with the first being served with gravy, side dishes and condiments whilst the second serving will be just rice with curd as a palate cleanser.
Banana leaf meals are eaten by hand. Banana leaf meal etiquette also dictates that, after the meal, the guest must always fold the banana leaf inwards as a sign of gratitude to the host, even when the host is the proprietor of an eatery. However, when meals are served at funeral wakes, the leaf is folded outwards as a sign of condolence to the family of the deceased. Due to this, folding the leaf outwards is considered rude in any other circumstance.

Served in a banana leaf as a plate size of an A3 , firstly they served you 4 kind of vege as side dish which is refillable .1. chop cucumber,carrot & onion marinated with yogurt 2. Stir fried long beans & carrot with curry leaves & eggs. 3. Dhal curry bowl together with potatoes & vegetable. 4. eggplant cook with chilli oil & onion. Secondly they come with a big bowl of rice where they will serve it on your plate aka banana leaf but you gotta tell them how much of rice you wanted if not they will put a mountain of rice on your plate . Remember to grab some fried papadum and mixing up some curry & sauces around your warm white rice before digging.

Fried Bitter Gourd RM 1.50 per plate
Fried Bitter gourd is crispy and alittle salty & bitter yet delicious when eaten with curry and rice . Fried Bitter gourd  is a indian style of cooking where they sliced the bitter ground into thinner size and cover it with flour and seasoning and place into the hot oil wok to fry into golden crispy color. 
Serve as an accompaniment with Indian rice dishes, or eat as a snack.

Basically is sliced banana and well seasoned then place into the wok at a slow heat to fried a while . Tasted Spicy & Sweet at the same time. 

Fried Chicken RM 4.00
As much as I love to eat chicken , I hate to admit that this chicken was really dry , 

Fried Cauliflower RM 1.50
Fried cauliflower, also known as zahra mekleyahis a Levantine vegetarian dish. Fried cauliflower dish is gobi manchurian, an Indian-Chinese creation of crispy, battered deep-fried cauliflower with a spicy tomato sauce. "Gobi", sometimes spelled "gobhi," is Hindi for "cauliflower."

Lamb rendang RM4.00
The best lamb rendang in town!! Super tender like tofu and not gamey at all .Well season and pack with flavor in every bite plus a little spicy .Goes well beyond perfect with white rice. 

Curry or Sauce they served for the banan leaf which you're able to refill . Different places served different kind of curry and sauces depending on the day and region .

They also served nasi briyani if you want instead of white rice but the cost will be alittle more . We didnt get to try their briyani rice here . Will come back next time to review..
