BBQ Thai (Klang) Sdn Bhd @ Batu Tiga , Klang

9/10 STarss...

Taste Of Heaven

I've eaten BBQ Thai more then eating rices in my life and this place is seriously one stop to heaven .
BBQ Thai become one of rif’s favorite places to go to when he’s craving Thai food – BBQ Thai is known for its Thai street food and grilled items like pork neck and squid.
BBQ Thai is a Thai restaurant selling almost every kinds of Thailand’s food known to me.  They also serve BBQ food such as BBQ crab and BBQ pig neck.  Situated at the Old Klang Road, this Thai’s restaurant has a very big open space and a few air-conditioned few rooms.  In order to use the room, you will need to make early reservation and spend a minimum amount.

When comes to design wise on the interior and overall outlooks , I love how they use their creativity on reusing recycle item to deco and build the mini houses and room . Plus that fancy colors on every section to define the usage and propaganda for events/ function  .

Price : Standard / Mid-range but Worth every penny

Services : Good but still alittle unorganized on the front house ( Still New)

Environment :  Cooling if you get the VIP room but Warm if you sit outside

Food Type : Thai / BBQ

Status : NON-Halal

Look Choop " Miniature Fruits & Vegetables with Mung / Yellow Bean " RM 12.00

Before we get into the recipe for this Thai dessert, let us get a brief background of Luk Choop candy. This Thai dessert has two words in it's name, Luk or Look means small objects and Chup or Choop means a type of coating. Look Choop was a Thai dessert that originated in the royal palaces of ancient Siam. It is said that the royal family members ate this candy which was shaped like small fruits and vegetables. Each of the luk chup candies would be skillfully moulded into interesting vegetables like chillies and fruits like banana, orange and even mangosteen. They were colorfully painted with food colors, it was important that food prepared for the royals tasted good and even looked good. As years passed by, the recipe for making look choop candies moved beyond the high walls of the palaces, you can now find this very interesting, attractive and delicious Thai dessert in many sweetmeat shops across Thailand.

Thai Style Water Chestnut RM 7.00
Tub Tim Grob, coconut milk based dessert that is very popular among Thais when the weather is hot. The small reddish/pinkish jewels are water chestnut covered with tapioca flour, served with sweeten coconut milk and shaved ice. Shredded jackfruit and jellied coconut flesh can be added to this dessert to make it extra special.
Jellied coconut flesh (มะพร้าวกะทิ in Thai or macapuno in the Philippines) occurs when the coconut lacks an enzyme that turn its flesh into a normal coconut flesh. The flesh continues to develop in the jelly state.
Tub Tim translated literally is either ruby or pomegranate. The name has never been an issue until Thai food became well known in the west, and an English translation was needed. To properly translate and explain this dessert, looking back and searching for the history should give clues. Unfortunately, there was no historical facts that we can rely on for how this dessert came about. However, if you look at Thailand's neighbor, Vietnam, this exact dessert exists (Suong Sa Hot Luu). The red kernels are known as lựu or pomegranate. However, for the Thais, pomegranate originated outside of Thailand, but rubies were in the ground in provinces south of Bangkok. Many Thais must have thought the word 'tub tim' refers to rubies because now that you can also get 'moragote grob' or crunchy emerald!
