Chinese New Year is a little like Thanksgiving where there’s celebration, massive feasting, visiting relatives and where ornate, wildly colored dragons, kamquat trees, and generally, decorations that are “red” in colour, are used to decorate the place for good luck. Chinese restaurants will inadvertently be serving up dishes with names that mean “good luck” and “fortune”.
Part of the fun and madness of Chinese New Year, is the partaking in Low Sang. And part of the Low Sang/Yee Sang ritual is actually the noise and merry making that involves large chopsticks and people tossing and mixing the ingredients in the large, flat plate till the colors and raw fish are completely and thoroughly mixed. This is the one time, parents will not scold their children for playing with their food. In fact, the more you play with it and toss it, the better. Also, the louder you scream prosperity wishes the better. “Health Come!” “Money Come!” “Love and Good Fortune COME!
Fried fins with eggs, carrots mixed with shredded chicken floss - Awesome combination wrap with vege , first time trying this but trust you wont regret after ordering this because it tasted so good and yet you cant figure out what is inside after you bite.
Signature tauhu , i know this can be normally found everywhere in chinese restoran but this is so different . The toufu is specially make and tasted different with the source they have . I havent review their secret to make this but this is just so damn nice,
Pork Neck BBQ is a well known dish here as you can see many people will order this and if bad luck is "out of stock " because too many people order. The meat is so good where you cant stop eating and the skin is crispy but yet soft.
Few more days and is chinese new year, so we decide to go down to cheras to have lunch and we found this restaurant 9888 hidden inside the shop lot where you can see many car repair and recycle shops there and a restaurant in the middle. Seriously ? who will come this kind of place to eat but as we walk in . Wow , the smell of food ! . There is so many delicious food on the menu . Even got aircorn but it seem to be really hot inside. I rate it 7/10 stars. Must eat !!!
